From I-10 East » DRIVING

Proceed on I-10 past the Louisa Street and Franklin Avenue exits, to its junction with I-610. Take I-610 to its first exit (New Orleans Street), and take that exit ramp down to your right. Proceed on New Orleans Street through an underpass where it merges into N. Broad Street, a divided thoroughfare. Proceed on Broad through three traffic lights: A.P. Tureaud Blvd., St. Bernard Ave., and Gentilly Road. At the next traffic light (Rite Aid Drug Store) at Broad and Esplanade, turn left on to Esplanade (a U-Turn will be required), and proceed three blocks to N. Tonti St. For the Benachi House, turn left from Esplanade on to Tonti and proceed 1/2 block to Bayou Rd. The Benachi House is on the corner of Tonti at 2257 Bayou Rd. For the Esplanade Villa continue on Esplanade Ave past N. Tonti to 2216 Esplanade on your right.

Proceed on I-10 East. From the New Orleans International Airport it's a distance of about eight (8) miles to the I-10/I-610 split. You will cross Clearview Parkway, Causeway Boulevard and Bonnabel Boulevard. At the I-10/I-610 junction, keep to the right on I-10 East, "New Orleans Business District." Exit I-10 East at the first exit after the junction: #231A ("Metairie Road/City Park Avenue"). At the traffic light turn left onto Metairie Road. Continue (Metairie Road becomes City Park Avenue) past cemeteries, and City Park, a distance of approximately 18 blocks or 1.4 miles to the signal light at the intersection of City Park Avenue and N. Carrollton Avenue. Turn left on to N. Carrollton Ave. and proceed a distance of approximately one (1) block to the next signal light (at Esplanade Ave.) and the bridge over Bayou St. John, on your right. Turn right on to Esplanade Ave. and cross the bridge; proceed on Esplanade Avenue a distance of approximately 17 blocks or .9 miles to the signal light at the intersection of Esplanade and N. Broad. Continue through the intersection a distance of three blocks to the intersection of Esplanade and N. Tonti. For the Benachi House, turn left from Esplanade on to Tonti and proceed 1/2 block to Bayou Rd. The Benachi House is on the corner of Tonti at 2257 Bayou Rd. For the Esplanade Villa continue on Esplanade Ave past N. Tonti to 2216 Esplanade on your right.

Serves the Benachi House (Stop 234) with ten-passenger vans that depart from baggage claim. Tickets may be purchased from the driver, or at a service desk within the baggage claim area.
